What we treat

Come in with the thing that hurts. Leave with a plan for it.

Low back pain

New, chronic, or the kind that visits every few months. The evidence is clear that movement beats rest, and we show you which movement.

Neck and headaches

Stiff necks, tension headaches, the crick that will not leave. Often driven by how you sit and sleep, so we address that too.

Sports injuries

Sprains, strains, tendon trouble, runner's knee. We rehab the injury, then build the capacity so it holds up next season.

Post-surgical rehab

Knees, shoulders, hips, spines. We follow your surgeon's protocol and keep them in the loop at every phase.

Desk-body pain

The shoulder-blade knot, the tight hips, the wrist that clicks. Forty hours a week in a chair leaves a signature. We know it well.

Balance and mobility

Steadier on stairs, off curbs, on trails. Strength work with measurable milestones, not a stretching handout.

Your first visit

Sixty minutes. Here is how it goes.

01

A real exam

History first, then movement: bend, squat, reach, resist. We are looking for the pattern behind the pain, not just the sore spot.

02

A plan in plain English

What is going on, what we will do about it, and how many visits it should take. A number, on paper, before you book anything.

03

Treatment the same day

You will not leave with only paperwork. Hands-on care and your first two exercises start in visit one.

Wear something you can move in. Sneakers beat sandals, and shorts help if it is a knee or a hip.

How we work

Two clinicians. One plan. An end date.

Chiropractic and PT under one roof

Dr. Ellison and Dana share one chart and one plan. If your case needs both adjustment and loading, you get both, without a referral loop between offices.

Exercise you will actually do

Three or four movements, filmed on your phone in the clinic, progressed every visit. Not a twenty-page packet destined for a drawer.

A plan that ends

You get a visit count on day one and we track against it out loud. Most plans here run six to twelve visits. If progress stalls, we change the plan or refer you out. We do not re-book you forever.

The team

Two people, both of whom will know your name.

Dr. Marcus Ellison, chiropractor

Dr. Marcus Ellison, DC

Chiropractor · 16 years in practice

Threw his back out at 24 moving amplifiers and got two useful visits and a lecture. Built Axis to be the clinic he wishes he had found.

Dana Whitfield, physical therapist

Dana Whitfield, PT, DPT

Physical therapist · orthopedic specialist

Ran the 800 meters through college and rehabbed her own share of hamstrings. Believes good rehab should look suspiciously like training.

Insurance and pricing

No surprises, stated up front.

We are in network with most major PPO plans and Medicare, and we handle auto-injury and workers' compensation claims.

We verify your benefits before the first visit and tell you your expected cost per visit up front, not after the claim comes back. If a plan of care will cost you eight copays, you hear "eight" before visit one.

Paying cash? The prices on the right are the whole story. No membership, no bundle you have to buy today.

Cash visit prices

  • First visit, exam + same-day treatment$120
  • Follow-up visit, 40 minutes$80
  • Full plan of careQuoted at visit one

HSA and FSA cards accepted. Superbills provided for out-of-network reimbursement.

From patients

Shared with permission.

I walked in braced for a twenty-visit sales pitch. They said eight, it took nine, and they taught me enough that I have not needed a tenth. Strange business model. I respect it. Renata S. · low back pain
Six months after knee surgery I was still scared of stairs. Every session had a purpose I could feel, and my surgeon actually complimented the progress notes. Tom B. · post-op knee rehab
